Default 2002 ford ranger

My 02 ford ranger has a rough idle at a stop, cleaned the iac valve was better for a little. Will a bad iac valve bring on the check engine light.

Could be a number of things. You may want to consider the MAF sensor, thermostat, plug wires, & fuel filter. Those are just general guesses but it does sound like it's somethin along those lines

Sorry for the real late response to such a good question. I don't believe the IAC will thro a code as it is an actuator instead of a sensor and has nothing else to compare its readings against.
