Default Lemon juice used to clean carbs

I had just learned something from an old school Honda mechanic ( atv mech) he uses 50/50 mix of lemon juice and water to boil the carb for 10-15 min.

Anyone ever heard of this for car /truck carbs or anythging else automotive wise?

Never heard of it used for that but have used it on a flat top grill to keep from rusting after cleaning.
