Default ranger problems

i need to know what you guys think is wrong with my ranger, i have a 1994 ford ranger and i was driving down a flooded road and the back end slipped out and got stuck and a colorado wanted to pull me out and when he did the intake sucked up water, now the truck is having problems going into gear i have to put like 20lbs of pressure to get it in gear and it also grindds really bad and i want to know what needs to be done and see if that works before i buy a new transmission please help!

What is it? Auto or manual? I would think that your tranny sucked up water. Change the fluid/filter ASAP if you have an auto like I think you do.

Check your slave cyl. for water. Or you mighta blown a slave.
