Default 5.0 swap somewhere in the future.....?

Alright, so I know of the older rangers getting 5.0s in them. I want to do it to my 01, and be one of the first in my area with one like it. Problem is, I don't know anything about it, and would love to learn. This way, I don't get myself into something I can't handle, and never finish it. How hard would it be? I know that any engine swap can be a real pain, especially when you have a limited amount of tools to do it. Second, would a new transmission be needed? Since the power increase is quite a lot, I would think so... Last, what else would need to change on the truck? I know from a buddy the computer has to be tinkered with, and a few other things... But I'm not exactly sure what... Anybody want to fill me in, so I don't screw it up? Much appreciated.

Everything must be changed... Especially if you want to run efi. Computer, wiring harness, trans, since it's a 4x4 the transfer case, front drive shaft & rear I believe... Better off just finding a donner expo to take everything out of.

The donor expo would probably be a good idea, then just part it out when I'm done with it lol

That sounds ridiculous lol I'd love to have my truck sound like that. I think I'd have to get another truck though first so this can be taken off the road for a while lol So in another three to four years I'll be starting this haha

I was gonna do a 5.0 swap. But then I met ashley. So were thinking of buying a double wide house to put on my dads trailer park lot. I can live there for free the only thing I'll have to pay for is my morage utilities and property taxes.

You could barely afford to get your front axle fixed. What in the WORLD would posess you to think about this? And if you cant swap out your front end yourself, dont even THINK about trying to drop a V8 down in your truck.

I hate to be Negative, but it is what it is.

Hey, Brad, why don't you look at the original date I posted this....? Uhhh, I think it was BEFORE all this **** went wrong. And I have friends who've done it before. So I have help. So don't worry about it.
