Thumbs down Something is drawing power from my battery

and i dont like it!

I went and got a new battery today since the other one was deceased, and when i was putting on the positive cable it sparked, and my dad said that meant there was power already being drawn from it. everything in my truck is off, any pointers to what i should check? thanks.

your radio always pulls power to keep memory presets and the PCM also draws a small amount as well.

UPDATE:
i've been fighting this battle for a while, at first i just replaced the battery, but the next day it was dead again. I checked fuses, and noticed that a fuse was blown, it was the "engine comp l.p." fuse. hoping that just replacing the fuse would do it, i went out and bought some fuses, put a new one in, and jumped it. i let it run for about 20 minutes, turned it off and hoped that it would start today. i just went outside and when i opened the door, no lights came on, and nothing when i turned the key. Im open to all suggestions on what this could be, thanks guys.

Not to sound like an ass, but with being an old truck have you been making sure that the ignition is completely turned off when you take your key out of the ignition? Once the ignition key lock switch gets wore it can allow the key to be taken out with not being completely locked/off.

It's always been totally turned off.
the older years have a knob you have to push in to get the key turned off all the way and out of the ignition, so im sure.
