Default How To: Front Brake Replacement - Third Gen

I nor rangerforum.net take responsibilty to any harm you do to yourself your truck or anybody around you while performing this repair

Here we go!

Tools Needed:
Hammer
Flat Head Screwdriver
Punch
C-Clamp
19mm deep well impact socket
impact gun or breaker bar

1: jack up truck and put it on jack stands

WARNING!!!! NEVER WORK ON ANY VEHICLE IN THE AIR WITHOUT JACK STANDS IN PLACE!!!!!

2: Remove Wheel

you should now see this

3: use the punch and hammer to push out slide pins

4: Pull off caliper

5: Take off rear pad, it just slides out

6: Remove front pad, this you need to use the screwdriver to push metal clips off caliper

7: Now take off Brake master cylinder cap

8: using c clamp push caliper piston back in

9: Put rear pad in

10: Push front pad on caliper, you can do this by hand

11: set caliper back on and line up and start pins in ( make sure you put the bumps in the pins so they face the bracket attached to the truck

12: now use the hammer to push the pins into place

13: pump brake pedal

14: put fluid cap back on and fill if you deem it necessary

Now you have new front brakes!
