Default Dual Exhaust

just wondering, i have the 99 xlt, 4wd. can you put headers on the v-6
with dual exhaust, or is this a waste of time, gotta run two cats????
also have stock shocks, truck rides good, what could i upgrade to
to maybe get a little better ride, thanks!!!!

Yes and yes and yes. Headers are expensive and make for a tight fit for the 3.0 and 4.0 you can custom make down stream pipes from the headers into single cats and out the rear in true dual exhaust, but some states will not let you do this. Some header manufacturers say that the headers will match your Y-pipe and squeeze the Air downstream through your stock exhaust. Defeats the purpose in my opinion. There are several catback systems available that will give you a little more power and better gas mileage that exit with dual pipes or larger than stock diameter that deliver decent sound too. www.summitracing.com has an easy access catalog that carries the most common brands of exhaust for your Ranger for ballpark cost.
