Default Rear End Leak

99 ranger xlt 4 wd, thiught my rear end cover gasket was leaking,
upon further inspection, it seems to be coming from the front of
the rear end where drive shaft is attatched, looks to be the rubber
0 ring or rubber dust cover around shaft, easy to do??? think its
a pinion seal, pinion seal replaced, no leaks!!!!!!!!!!

Question

How hard was it to replace- can you do it from the front w/o removing the pinion?

had the same thing happen to my truck it takes some elbow grease but if you replace the rear pinion seal it should fix the problem. its a really tight fit.
