Default 4.0l swap

hi i have a 95 4X4 XLT with a 4.0L. The motor had only 135k on it when the heads went again i spent 1400 7 months before that to have the heads replaned and that didnt last to long . I wanted to know if i could swap in a 94 4.0l . I wanted to know if there was any major difference in the motors or the computer system or the ignition since the 95 has a coil pack. I was told that you can run an older 4.0L in it but you need to run a different igniton system.
