Default 94 Ranger XLT will not start after short run

My 94 Ranger will not start every time after short or long trips. The engine turns over just fine but the fuel pump does not kick in when the ignition is turned on. I thing it is not starting because it is not getting fuel. Is this the fuel pump or and electrical issue?

I had a similar problem with my 93. Have you checked or replaced the fuel filter?

sounds like a bad fuel pump... next time it wont start... beat on the tank with a wooden block or something
