My odometer and tripmeter just quick working any ideas of what might be the problem. The speedometer works fine.

Mine is the same. Im interested to find out why also. Speedometer works fine but the odometer will intermittently work, then quit working all together...

I think, I may have gotten it fixed. A buddy of mine told me to take the whole instument cluster out and open it up, then take a small object (i used a paperclip to move the trip meter and the odometer to see if they would move, I did this and blew in and blew out some dust and junk. Put is back in and pressed the trip button a few times and it is working again for now. Hope this helps

if it does it again, it could be your speed sensor going bad. they are like $20 from Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. its located on the passenger side of the transmission underneath your truck

Ok it stopped working again. I found the speed sensor on the back of the tansmission/tranfer case pulled out and put it back in. Still the same, odometer not working but speedometer is. I am confused can it still be the sensor on the transmission not working or should I lean more to digging the instument panel out of the dash again.
Thanks |
