Default Intake manifold gaskets

Hi, has anyone ever installed intake manifold gaskets on a '93 Ranger 3.0 litre engine?

I'm confused about exactly where to apply the silicon sealer (reference step 18 on the attachment - Chilton's manual). It asks you to place the gaskets on the heads and then directs you back to step 14 for applying the sealer...which is where my confusion kicks in. I'm not sure exactly where the sealer is supposed to be applied.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
