Default brake lights

Ok so my brake lights and running lights work, my brakes stop fine when pedal is lightly depressed however the brake lights won't come on unless I force the pedal almost to the floor. Any ideas before I get pulled over or into an accident?

Mine won't come on if I lightly press on the pedal. But otherwise they work fine. I don't know what it could be. My guess is some kind of sensor is messed up.

Mine pretty much won't come on at all. I would have to damn near lock em up to get the lights on.

The only things that I can think of would be the above, and a loose wire.

on older cars/trucks you could adjust the brake light switch at the pedal, seems like that's all you need to do

I see a sensor or some electrical stuff hooked to the brake pedal but can tell if you could adjust it. Any help would be great
