It's spitting from tail pipe, and blowing that white water vapor even after long freeway drive. I was thinking headgasket. Seems to be running fine other than that. Radiator is low but not super low...yet.

It's your head gasket man. That's the only thing I can think of that would be able to do it...

Honestly, no... My dad did two on an 87 Mazda and a one on a 92 Dakota himself, and it took a LONG time... But he's only a weekend mechanic and a half-asser sometimes. As long as it'd run....lol I do know it can cost a pretty penny though. Ain't cheap to rip the engine apart.

Any mechanic will make it out to be some scary big job but its really not that bad as long as you have some knowledge of how a motor works. Take off the intake. Remove the intake manifold. And there's your head gasket. It's this big scary piece of paper that everyone spends a thousand dollars on. Just make sure you know how tight to crank the bolts that hold the manifold on. Of you crank them too tight you will warp the heads.

So I filled up the radiator today and while the radiator cap was off I started he truck and let it idle and reved it a couple times, noticed a couple small bubbles pop up but not to noticeable. I drove it around and then on the freeway it didn't overheat or even start to overheat. Got home and did not notice any leaks and no vapor from exhaust. What he Hell is going on with this truck?! One day it leaks the next its no leak. Any ideas? Anyone still thinking head gasket?
